Los amigos de @estimuladultos me han recordado que hoy es el #diamundialdelalzheimer .
Cada año se diagnostican 40.000 nuevos casos en España. 
Cada año se abre un abismo enorme ante nuev@s pacientes y ante sus familiares.
Hace una semana tuve el privilegio de acudir a diferentes sesiones de musicoterapia en tres centros de día de la #fundaciónace , compartí tardes con grupos de usuari@s y con trabajadores y trabajadoras de esos centros, gracias a la generosidad de mi admirada  Mónica de Castro (la musicoterapeura que me asesoró a lo largo de la escritura de #quiéremesiempre ).
Me siento muy afortunada de seguir trabajando mano a mano con ella y de haber sido testigo de la magia que he visto en sus sesiones. 
Hay centros en los que se realiza una labor increíble, por no hablar del amor con el que cuidan a sus usuari@s.
Si conocéis a alguien que sufra de Alzheimer buscad programas adecuados a su grado de enfermedad y ayudadle a recuperar algo de autonomía y autoestima. Y si conocéis a alguien que tenga a algún enfermo a su cargo, cuidadle y sostenedle, porque toda ayuda es oro y es bálsamo.
La música es una herramienta maravillosa, utilizadla con mimo y cuidado, os recomiendo el documental “Alive Inside”, es facílisimo de encontrar en internet y es un ejemplo potentísimo de como ayudar.
Ojalá nuestros goviernos invirtieran más en investigación, y si tenéis a vuestr@s mayores en residencias, intentad hacer presión para que contraten a gente SERIA y EXPERTA en #musicoterapia . Porque las cosas se pueden hacer mejor, y entre tod@s podemos construir una sociedad mejor y más empática. 
Est@s enferm@s necesitan mucha ternura y comprensión, seamos un puente para ell@s, un puente seguro de cruzar. Un puente con algo de luz al otro lado.

10 Things you should know about the Amazon 🌿🐒🐛🦋🌾 .

1. The local kids are gorgeous but isolated, they love meeting new people. Brazil has the most uncontacted people in the world approximately 77 tribes. 👧🧒 .

2. Catching Piranhas is as fun as it looks. They are dangerous yet also very stupid. By the way some are vegeterian, not all will eat you! 🐟

3. Finding a Caiman is not easy so be careful (you will have better luck at night as they are nocturnal hunters, make sure to put them back in the water as they don't make great pets) 🐊

4. If you are going to try to catch anything else to look at including an Anaconda it's best to take a lesson from a local fisherman first. (I recommend staying away from the Anacondas tho) 🐍

5. The rivers in the Amazon meet but never merge. The black river known as Rio Negro and the pale white river run side by side without mixing. It is a phenomenon that occurs in other parts of the world too. 👻

6. Best way to travel in the Amazon is by a long narrow river boat. Just make sure to sandwich yourself in between your friends so you are less likely to be eaten by something. 🚣‍♀️ .

7. Cooking your own Amazonian flatbread known as Beiju with the local native tribes is a great learning experience. They will be happy to teach you how. 🍞

8. Sleeping in a hammock in the middle of the rainforest is scary as hell so carry a head torch! That way at least you can see what is biting your ass. The largest bugs in the world live in the Amazon, the biggest is called the Titan beetle! 🐞

9. The Amazon is as beautiful as you've imagined I hope you get to experience it. The fires happening the past few weeks, happen each year to clear land for raising cattle. As demand increases the fires have increased. 😔

10. Last but not least remember to pack light as it's not an easy place to get to, there's a reason it's been in existence for more than 55 million years!! 🌳

It’s exciting, right? We’re finally allowed back in the gym again. No more home workouts or fearing that our muscles will waste away in a month or two. Naturally, we should do what anyone else would do and lift as heavy as we can for as many reps as possible like we haven’t lost any muscular strength at all... right?! ⁣
⁣
NO! Absolutely NOT! 🚫⁣
⁣
While you may THINK it’s safe to pick up from where you left off three months ago, the truth is you may actually do more harm than good, particularly if you haven’t had access to the same or similar weight at home. So! Instead of succumbing to injury as soon as you get back to the gym, follow these tips instead, and HOPEFULLY they’ll help you bridge your training between home and gym workouts!⁣
⁣
Tip #1 — Ease back into training gradually to avoid physical injury and/or burnout. You can’t expect to increase training volume, frequency and load lifted ALL AT ONCE and come out of it unscathed. If you’ve been training at home with lighter weight, your body will have become accustomed to that weight. Similarly, if you’ve been training less frequently due to lack of motivation or more frequently to compensate for a lack of weight, your body will have adjusted to that training style. ⁣
⁣
Therefore, you need to take small steps to progress with your gym training again. E.g. increase training frequency from 3x per week to 4x per week; increase load lifted by 5-10kg instead of 20kg in one jump and/or swap out AMRAP sets for straight sets of 8-12 reps. ⁣
⁣
Tip #2 — Check your form and technique before you think about increasing weight. I don’t know about you, but during lockdown, I had to change some things to accommodate training with different, and clunky/faulty, equipment. For the sake of your joint health, dumbbells really shouldn’t be adjustable. Take the time to familiarise yourself with cables, machines and free weights again. Focus on moving your muscles through a full range of motion; don’t cut corners and lift heavy just because you can. ⁣

They severely cut calories, deprive themselves of food and achieve temporary success from this rigid approach. Unfortunately, something happens that completely throws Charlie off track! By educating yourself on nutrition, adopting a balanced approach to food and wellbeing, and developing a positive relationship with yourself, your body and food—you’ll be able to achieve healthy and sustainable body composition results without the nasty physiological and psychological side effects associated with yo-yo dieting. ⁣

And yet, balance is unappealing to so many because it’s ‘too easy’ compared with feeling hungry on a diet. We’re taught that we NEED to feel hungry if we want to lose weight; that we NEED to punish ourselves if we want to achieve results; and that we NEED to restrict to diet effectively. But, I’m telling you right now, YOU DO NOT need to do or feel any those things.⁣

This is me approx. 3.5 months into a dieting phase and you know what? It was the most enjoyable process I’ve ever experienced. ⁣
